With all this damp weather.. the 2 things that drive me mad everywhere you walk are the slugs and snails.... Just took my dog out and my garden path is like a freaking land mine. (shudder)...Its just the worst thing when you accidentally step on one of them.. (Double shudder) I cringe at the sight!

As long as they stay outside. I had one making an escape indoors this morning. Came in the window and found a home on the curtains. Think the snail needed a lesson in camoflague though as the curtains are cream - not brown. The neighbours are having problems with the snails eating the mail in the letter box.

Yeah thats where they seem to be congregating..round my rabbit hutch. I had to go out the other night cos the slugs were half in and half out of the bloody mesh on the cage! God help me if i spill any of the rabbit food and dont notice.. its like a slug and snail diner!

I heard that about salt, but i darednt do it! ha ha.

I have stood on them in my slippers, but never my bare feet thank god... I think i would just throw up... its bad enough when you hear them crack and squelch when you have shoes on!

They may be ugly and disgusting to you but to a hedgehog they are not only a gourmet feast but the difference between life and death. Slugs and snails all have their place in the grand scheme. People are really the only creatures whose numbers have reached plague proportions.
