Thumbs up Disneyland in Izmir

Izmir Konak's local government have started a project to build Disneyland in Izmir. If the project is successful then 6 million tourists are expected to visit Izmir every year, and this will change the city socially and culturally as well as a big improvement in the cities economical structure.

The council of the project invited representatives of Paramaunt Picture (Walt Disney Production) to Izmir. The government in Ankara is very interested in the project.

Izmir is so close to Ephesus, Virign Mary, Selcuk so this is increasing the possibility of the project.

If this goes ahead, it will create 10,000 jobs.

We at Kusadas.Biz are fully supporting this project, but we think there's a long way to go.

Oh wow Mella that would be so good for the area....and would also certainly bring the budget airlines on board.
I wish this project all the success in the world.

Wow that would be great news, the more cheap airlines we can get into Izmir the better. Then maybe Kusadasi and the surrounding area will get the recognition for the world class destination it really is!! Dont know if a plastic pamukkale and a fibre glass ephesus if will have the same impact as the real thing but if Mickey and Donald can bring the tourists back to Turkey I'm all for it!!

I can see it now, Minnie taking her days off in Kusadasi... Dancing in Bar Street!!!!

Disneyland would be great, anything to encourage the low cost airlines to come to the area.... And an added extra for us big kids!!!

Im keeping everything crossed that it comes to Izmir. I was reading about it this morning in one of the daily newspapers and it said that both Ankara and Antalya are hoping to get it.

To me, Izmir makes more sense. It lost out on the Formula 1, so lets hope it doesnt happen again this time.

Antalya has a longer season weather wise and attracts more tourist´s, which puts IZmir at a disadvanatge. I´ll start a candle light vigil!

Any news on the bid for Expo?
