Default Ski Holidays To Turkey

Well the summer season is ending this month and next thing to look forward to is a bit of skiing at Uludag in Bursa.

This was topic of conversation on our balcony last night with mine and Mavi's family, and we were saying that none of us knew of any tour operators who provide ski holidays from the UK to Turkey. Does anyone know of any?

Now that Easyjet fly into SAW airport Uludag is very accessible especially as you land on the correct side of Istanbul for Bursa.

Finger's crossed, we'll be heading up there when the school's break for 2wks in January, it really is a winter wonderland.

Here's a good website for hotels http://www.uludaghotels.com/

We've stayed in the Kar Hotel which is right beside one of the ski-lifts so very handy.

This place is even closer, http://www.bozdagkayak.com/eng/kayak.php, I meant to go up last year but didnt get round to it.

Hopefully Europe will have a better snowfall record this year than last. The alps were bare every time I flew over them last winter.

For the best snow in the world you can't beat the Canadian Rockies but I'm thinking of trying Mount Tremblant this winter for a quick break if I can get a good flight price.

I didnt realise there was skiing available in the Izmir area but with the kind of winter we had last year (and maybe this year) I'm not sure there would be much snow. Is there only 1 hotel?

So no one marketing Uludag.....hmmm, a space in the market maybe??

Mavi, we'll just wave at the rest of the family from the inside of the hotel lounge and take plenty of photos lol!

Can't find any ski holidays to Turkey from Ireland...

None of the tour operators have caught on to this yet.

Wow, it looks lovely there! We normally go skiing in Austria, but I really want to try it in Turkey.

Isn't this country great...sun holidays, nightlife, delicious food, waterparks, golf, fishing, National Parks, great beaches, steeped in history....skiing and wintersports. It really has something for everyone....

Ally, you'll have to take lots of pics for us when you go.

Never really considered Turkey for skiing and havent skied for a number of years but definately something to consider for when we move out there. Will have to get my skis and boots out of moth balls.
