More than 20,000 tourists are expected to participate in the 90th anniversary of Anzac Day.
In Canakkale (Gallipoli), where Anzacs fought against Turks, hotels have already been booked to capacity in preparation for the commemoration ceremony on April 24-25. Canakkale Governor Suleyman Kamci pointed out that there was no problem last year and that the number of tourists has been increasing every year. A ceremony is organized every year at Anzac Bay Canakkale where Australian and New Zealand soldiers died while fighting for Britain. Thousands of tourists come to Turkey from these two countries in order to commemorate the Anzacs (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps). Along side Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, other officials such as Prince Charles of Britain are expected to attend the ceremonies.
