I mentioned the fair exhibition centre on the xmas thread, and thought some of you may like to know a little bit about it.
The Izmir fuar (fair) is a large area in the centre of Izmir which hosts a variety of exhibitions every year. The area consists of several large buildings, a small lake with swan pedalos, a fair ground, a wedding registry office, a disco and a rentable outside area for parties, a zoo , parks and sports facilities and theatre which holds lots of shows and concerts. It is an enclosed, gated area, so once you're in it's pretty much safe to walk around and mostly pedestrianised. I have added a link below for the website and calendar dates for upcoming exhibitions. The rest of this year is fairly quiet but I would suggest adding the website to your favourites so you can check for next years calendar dates. The best fuar imo, is the ief in september..this fair is huge and has something for everyone :mobile homes, house furniture, monster trucks and construction machines, books, spa baths...just everything! Anyway, hope it's helpful information, Charlotte p.s. Note to Ally : The shoe fuar is always in feb!!! http://www.izfas.com.tr/izmirfair.ph...2222&id=91&l=2 |

Shoes! Ohh definitely up for that one. But it's the Motor Show I'll definitely be going too next May. It's good to dream
![]() Would like to go to the souvenir one in December. Alison PS. Just to say that the zoo and fairground is also within the walls of the Fuar. It's very easy to get to from Kusadasi. Head for Konak when you come off the motorway, then follow signs for Alsancak, then Fuar. It's located at a large roundabout. You can park the car inside. |
