I have seen all the great posts about the towns around Izmir and decided to add my new home town of Güzelbahçe.

Güzelbahçe is famous for its fish restaurants and at weekends in both Summer and Winter they are crowded with visitors from all over the area. The town is dominated by fishing and you can see people fishing all along the sea front at weekends and evenings and there are always fishing boats bobbing about in the bay of Izmir.

Güzelbahçe is a town of 2 halves, the main centre is located about 1km inland at the top of a small hill and is probably regarded as the more afluent part of the town with many large houses and villas. The rest of the town is spread along the coast with fish restaurants dominating the parts of the sea front and the property is largely apartments although a number of villas and luxury apartment developments are coming in.
