I am with Akbank, I filled in a form first, handed it back in, and had to wait for it to be processed... I am not sure if I went back in 10 days later or if they posted it out, I have a feeling that I went back in

if Kusturk is correct then the akbank tel no from your home phone is 44 2525 then press 8 for english...

then its your luck if you get a "good" english speaker or not...

of course if your turkish is good, then you wont need to dial 8 for english..

Hi Mavi

Thanks for this. We were asked if we had our card code, which we have and thought nothing about it, then tried to log-in, and it asks for 6 numbers and not 4... confused or what...

We will try and call the Akbank tomorrow, last time we spoke to someone they spoke good English, I guess its look of the draw...

Jules

Hi went into Akbank today, and asked how we get our passcode for Internet Banking, and for some reason we filled in yet another form identical to the one we filled in a week ago, and were told that our number will be SMS'd to us within 2-3 minutes. Needless to say, that 9 hours later, still no number, and none the wiser. Rang the bank to find out what the problem is, and was told that everything checks out there... so goodness only knows what the problem is... Will persevere for a little longer, than might just thro in the towel yeha

We have internet banking with Akbank and I nearly had yet another nervous breakdown when I went to log-in last week. They have changed the whole process so we did as asked, changed user name and added 6 number code instead of 4. Worked for us no problem, all the way here in Spain.

If you have a turkish bank card, can that card be used in the UK?

I have accessed the internet banking before in UK, but never tried the card.

Well if I wasnt stressed I am now!!! I rang the bank this morning to let them know still no passcode received, and they rang back an hour later to say that because our mobile was in my husband's name then I couldnt use that to receive the SMS. I gave them my father-in-laws Turkish mobile number as they have left it with us until they next return to Turkey in May, and after numerous calls to the bank and to the head office, still no SMS, so after further investigation it was found out that the last number I gave them had been keyed in incorrectly, to which they changed and said wait 2-3 minutes and you will receive an SMS. 2 hours later still no SMS, so decided to call the bank and cancel Internet banking, as by this time it seemed like too much hard work, and low and behold, 30 minutes after I cancelled the SMS text came through aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Needless to say, I've decided to just stick as we are, if I wanted stress and hassle I would move back to the UK!!!

Yes, you should be able to use the turkish card in the UK. ONCE THERE IS CIRRUS OR MAESTRO on it.
