Went to ladies beach on Tuesday had a meal and my mum got scratched by a stray cat.
Thought we better play it safe so I told her to go to the Saydam Clinic which is next to my apartment. She returned about an hour later it cost her £129 for a tetanus jab and they put her on a drip. £129!!!!! ![]() |

Eeck! That's extremely overpriced.
I went to Sifa hospital here in Izmir last week to ask for a hep A and tetanus injection (to shut my mum up lol) and they told Umit it was 13 lira for the tetanus jab. |

wouldnt dream of going to the private clinics, but i suppose if you have insurance. That one good thing about England, is not having to pay frull price for medican. My migraine tablets are 12ytl here for 2, in England if i had to buy them over the counter they are 8 quid for 2 and i get 24 on prescription.

For future reference and to avoid this rip-off situation occurring again, if anyone is unfortunate enough to have an accident at home or on the beach hop on the Kusadalilar No 1,2,3or 4 and go to the public hospital. If you're bleeding to death, get a taxi. 15ytl to register and 15 ytl to see a doctor.

That price was ridiculous!
You should go back and complain and ask why so much.. Hope it hasn't ruined your holiday, Charlotte |

Its probley because they put her on a drip the same thing happened to my mum last summer . I spoke to afriend today and they took someone up to the goverment hospital yesterday as they had twisted their ankle it cost them under 25ytl and that was for an xray and medication .So I would go to the goverment hospital from now on .

Think I can beat that one ! Last summer, around May/June I was feeling ill and went to the local doctor. I was told I was badly dehidrated, put on a drip of vitamins, 1 litre, and the bill was 250 ytl !!!
I was told I must go back in October and have a ltr of vitamins each day for five days. Needless to say I had learned my lesson and he didn"t see me for dust !!! I would always use the Government hospital now although I have been told that if you go to a State Registered Doctor it is only about 13ytl for an initial appointment. Can anyone supply more information about this scheme. haggis |
