Hi, we are moving to Kusadasi in the next few weeks and im unsure of what to expect. Can anyone who lives there give me an indication of what daily life is like? I guess Summer is very different to other times what with it being a resort. what's Kusadasi like in the Winter? Thank you

It is nice and quiet in winter and very relaxing once you get used to it being a bit like a ghost town in centrum. Apart from the weather I prefer Kusadasi in winter. Good luck with the move!

Life here is what you make it, it can be a busy or a quiet as you like. There are the normal household chores, there are clubs and people meeting up. Everything you had at home, apart from work and friends and you will soon make new friends, family are just a phone call away.

Daily life here is not that different for how it was for in in belfast. I havent lived here during the summer yet -- i suspect that will be different but here in the winter is quiet and you still have to your usual household chores like babypud mentioned. i would be happy to meet when you get here im still new and its daunting for me as well. |

Daily life in turkey must be laid back compared to here. There is no hurry to get to places here. it is a question of waking up and going to work then coming home and going to bed life is one long routine but in turkey the pace is slower and you enjoy life. one day i would love to live there.

There is still activity in Kusadasi over the winter. Most of the time the weather is nice, so you can get out and about easily. There is shopping, markets, visiting places of interest, cinema, meet ups, and quite a few places open to go out.In our restaurant we are open all year round, we are also about to start turkish lessons which will be on a monday afternoon, not sure if there is any spaces left, and we also host the WIT Kusadasi group, (women in Turkey), this is new to Kusadasi but has been ongoing for around a year in Altinkum, very successfully. A great way to meet some new friends. This will start in November also.Welcome to Kusadasi, let us know when you arrive and get settled

Hi, I was reading the last thread and noted you are holding Turkish lessons at your bar. Could you let me have more details on cost, time and if there is any free space? I am very keen to improve my limited Turkish.

I love the winter time in Kusadasi. The weather is sunny most of the days although it can get cold.
My life here isn't that much different from it was back in Belfast either...up for the kids going to school, housework, making the dinner but it's more laid back. Winter time is for meeting up for coffee or lunch (or the odd drink ) and catching up with people that you didn't see much of during the busy summer months. Marie, keep a look out for the date of the first Women In Turkey meeting..would be lovely to meet you. |

our life in the summer is very different to our life in the winter we have a house full of visitors during the summer and when they leave we enjoy the peace and quiet we eat out once or twice a week in a restaurants almost as cheap as cooking at home, we go for long walks, we have been to izmir for a day out for the wife to shop, and we spend time with our turkish friends. its not a bad life out here england is a rat race and here we get to stop and smell the roses.

One thing that always amazes me is that in the 3 years that we have lived here we hardly if ever wear our watches. When friends come over to stay they always ask the time, and we say "why do you need to know the time, we have all the time in the world". It is true.
