Working Self Employed

Hi there, we're newbies to the Forum. We're thinking about relocating to live in Kusadasi, but we need to know whether you can work self employed in Turkey without any problems. We've been unable to find any information on which type of visa you would require, residence or work. Can anyone help?

This is a fantastic forum, we've enjoyed reading all the information and thought it was about time we took part.

You may work in some travel agencies as customer representative or you may work in some hotels...etc

But you have to contact with them.

We're not looking to work for someone else. We want to carry on working freelance but in Turkey. My wife works as a freelance illustrator on childrens books, producing work for a UK publisher and we want to know which visa you would need to carry on working in Turkey as a sole trader.

Hmm, i am not sure about that but i think you should contact with your embassy to get the correct info.

Thanks, I've tried the British Embassy and they were no use, they said to contact the Turkish Consulate and I've been unable to get through to anyone on the phone and they haven't replied to emails.
