Default Turkish citizenship - applying for Turkish nationality - language test

This is a carry on, or part 2 if you will, from my other subject. I have been reading
so much about moving to turkey proccess this past week and
i have a million questions but one at a time. If you apply for Turkish
citizenship then as far as i understand you are expected to complete a
language test and would have to pass that before being allowed to have
Turkish nationality.

Has anyone here done that test?
What level of Turkish are you expected to have after 5 years
of living in turkey when you apply?
Is it a written or verbal test?
any other help and advice would be most appreciated.

Its more of a interview conducted in Turkish than a test. Main things to know are how to understand as questions and respond to the following:

Why you are applying - tip it is great to say you consider Turkey your country, esp as I said my wife and kids are Turkish, I live in Turkey, I will die in Turkey - I love Turkey - Turkey is my country - I am Turkish.

What you do for a living (careful here) and will do for a living once you are Turkish

How you will support yourself if you don't work.

Why you chose to live in Turkey.

I beleive it is more difficult for those not married to a Turk but can't confirm. Also I got mine over 2 years ago so may have changed, also I did hear it differs slightly from Town to Town.

I thought if you are married to a Turk you don't have to take a language test?

Not heard that, maybe it is now but they certainly wanted me to speak Turkish and was told I would have to. In fact one of the board members had a hard time with my pronouciation (although others said it was fine) and it was clear that my language skills were being assessed.

May I ask why you want to have Turkish nationality? I've lived here several years, married to a Turk, but apart from romantic notions I struggle to think why I should, and I'm interested to hear peoples' ideas.

1. It lets you live here without paying extortionate money for Residency Permits.

2. It lets you work legally without the worry of trying to get a work permit or being reported for working illegally.

Item 1. That's quite persuasive
Item 2. Work? I vaguely remember that in the dim distant past....

Item 3: Buy houses in 2 days!

Thank you Turtle webs for giving me advice based
on your experience. I can only hope that in the next couple of years
my Turkish will improve greatly.
