Default DSL/broadband in Yavansu, Kusadasi?

Hi...

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere here before, but here goes: I have been offered a house in Yavansu (opposite Fantasia Hotel) for a few months. For my work, reliable broadband is essential. Is DSL available there? If so, how much will it cost? Also, there is a phone line in the house but it has been shut off. Does anyone know how long it will take to turn it on and what that costs? Or all told, how much time will it take after arriving till I can expect my operation to be up and running and how much should I budget for those services?

Thank you in advance.

Hi eyeful,

i dont know dsl is available there, the monthly price is not expensive, 30€ or so (for 512k) i think. and Turkish Telekom should open the line in few days (up to 2 weeks!).

if you know the phone number of the house, then i may ask to Telekom for you.

Thanks, Umit. There is no number at the house yet as phone service was turned off a long time ago. It seems like I might want to budget a month of 'downtime,' before I get everything up and running. I suppose if the Fantasia Hotel has broadband, it would be possible to get similar service at a house just across the road. One can hope, anyway.

as far as i know, that depends on the infrastructure and that means we can expect anything or nothing about it. Turkish Telekom is driving by government and hasnt privatizated yet unfortunately. The best way to get the correct annswers is to ask them directly (just the nearest Telekom office by phone).

i am sorry that i can not answer clearly but thats not at my end.

I can't believe you won't get broadband where you are. i've just got it here in Persembe (miles off the beaten track!) We bought our modem for 105YTL, and pay 59YTL annually then 29YTL monthly. Turktelecom set us up within 3 days. Result!! Quicker than UK.

Hi

If the area you are talking about opposite Fantasia is part of Yesil Site or Entel Koy, you will have no problem getting ADSL.

If the house already has a phone line installed-regardless of whether it is now cut off- you won't have a problem getting it reconnected within a few days.

Good luck

I have a friend living in that area and he has had ADSL for about six or seven months, should not be a problem
