Default ID....Reminder

Just a reminder to anyone travelling soon...

With the heightened security In Turkey at the moment, people are being reminded to carry ID with them at all times.

The police are stopping random vehicles & some people just to do ID checks.

Yeah I wouldn't carry your passport round with you if I were you. Not a good idea!

I have a citizen ID card for in Holland, you have to carry it with you at all times (supposedly, but no one does..) coz they're well strict over here and if the police stop you and ask to see your ID and you don't have it you get fined!

I'm sure a drivers license will be grand?

I dont personally carry my passport either, i usually take a photocopy of my passport with me,(& keep in on me or in my bag) i also carry my photo driving license with me at all times.

Basically something with your photograph, name etc on should be on you at all times.

This is law in a lot of countrys, not sure if it is in Turkey tho?? (Umit??)

I know when i worked in france & Italy a few years a go we had to carry ID with us at all times & would frequently be stopped.

the old lience was paper, but with so many fake ID's out there it must be so hard for police and so easy for criminals!

We have to carry our licence here now, at all times when driving. Is it the same in UK?

No ...if we get stopped by the police we have a certain amount of days to show our license & insurance.
