I was just about to start a thread on the Eygpt bombings. This is terrible.

Already 83 people dead and lots more wounded. The explosion, ironically was in 'Peace Road', where everyone seems to go.

More info here; http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4709491.stm

I'm not sure what's going on in Kusadasi right now, or how they are currently dealing with last weeks atrocity, but i'm sure that security has been tightened and everybody is being extra vigilant.

Umit..?

I am shocked and numb..

Not another attack?? There must be a peaceful solution to all of this?
So much hate.. so many lives gone.. and for what? A bloody headline!!!!
Nothing will be acheived by all this, there will be no "winners" only more heartache..

What sort of world are we all living in??

We all have been always living in a terrible bloody world. Not now, but for centuries and centuries... This world has been always a pool of sorrow...

What's the difference now? The difference is that our security bubble doesn't exist any more... Since the 2nd World War finished, we have been building a "really nice place to live in", here in Europe and North America, and have become more and more deaf to the suffering of millions of people in the rest of the world. We saw in the TV killings and massacres in Colombia, Haiti, Sudan, Rwanda, Lebanon, Palestina and hundreds of other places and just said "oh dear" and then switched the channel.

Not even when we had an awful announcement that the horror was approaching us again, when the fraticidal Civil War in Yugoslavia happened, we did absolutely nothing to stop it. Yugoslavia is just HERE!, it locates between Italy and Greece... How weren't we able to realize???

But now, the horror may happen absolutely everywhere, may happen to everywhere of us, our fragile bubble does not exist anymore, you are in danger in "every nice place inside the bubble" you may imagine... Madrid, London, New York... do we need more examples? We will have!

Solutions? Are so easy to find and so difficult to implement. We just have to analyse the causes...

And the causes are that while there were people dying of pure hunger, of diseases we might cure and we don't, of tortures because of antidemocratic governments and arbitrary punishments of armies... While two thirds of the Humanity were living in the extreme poverty and injustice... thousands and thousands of desperate people will follow fanatic bloodthirsty power-eager leaders...

So, will this be solved some day? I'm afraid not. At least, not very soon... We may put more police in our streets, increase our military expenses... Those are patches, not solutions...

Kusadasi is well-securing but remember second London attack, there is no %100 success on this.

sanmero is exactly right in what he says i am 41 and cant remember a time without needless slaughter somewhere in the world in the name of some cause or another many due to some goverments actions directly or indirectly, The real sad thing is its the ordinary people who just want (or are struggling) to get on with their lifes that always seem to pay the price.
the soutions are clear but will never be implemented as its not in the interest of those in power(and safety).
Needless to say all our thoughts and sympathy go to those caught up in todays tragedy as stated in another thread a life is a life regardless of creed colour race or religion.
As oth Umit and Shannon have said security has been upped in Kusadasi from previous experience i know it will be as safe as anyone can make it but short of strip searching everyone as soon as they exit any building in this day and age we cant be 100% sure.
STILL COMING TO KUSADASI in September and would come tonight if i could.
