Hello there everybody!
This is my first time EVER posting in a chat room. I've been observing this site for a few weeks now and find it very helpful. In a few short weeks my girlfriend and i are travelling to kusadasi for a fortnight. After initial doubts in the aftermath of the bus tragedy we've decided not to let terrorists ruin our long awaited holidays. Unfortunately, i have heard of many people cancelling their trips but this is probably a result of media induced panic. I was wondering if you guys could help me with a few queries? 1 We will be staying at the Korumar Hotel which is rated as 5 star. Does anyone know what its like or where it is? How does this relate to our own rating system for hotels? I hope its good 'cos its costing me a fortune!! 2 Is kusadasi nightlife still as vibrant as it is famous for or is the region understandably down beat and fearful as a result of the atrocities? 3 What should i expect to spend for a bottle or a pint of "international" beer? 4 Will i be able to keep up to date with the gaa championship?!! 5 How much roughly do taxis cost per mile or minute? 6 At what time do bars and clubs open/close? 7 Is it possible to get Bulmers or Magners cider in Kusadasi and at what price? I love it!!! Any help with these queries would be greatly appreciated folks. Slainte |

Hi Spoily
The Korumar hotel is just outside the main centre just past the marina (dont know if its a 5 star but certinatly a 4 star our rating)I have an apartment opposite and the area is very nice with some nice marina based restaurants and bars very easy to reach town centre about a 20 minute walk, the location of the hotel is right on the front practically on top of the sea,Ive never actually been in the hotel but the reviews are all quite good on it the only downside I could see when passing it is that you could be allocated a roadside balcony view which would be a shame beacause the sea views from the hotel look spectacular,if you eat out you must try the Secret Garden restaurant about 5 mins walk towards the marina its a sea food based restaurant and you pick your fish out of a fish market type area excellent food and good prices, bar street is the most famous area for crazy nights in Kusadasi and I dont have much experience of that but there are plenty of people on this forum who could point you in the right direction, you are right of course we are going in August and wouldnt dream of cancelling our holiday and are really looking forward to it,have a good trip and enjoy Dean |

Hey Spoily,
Welcome to the forums! Coolio - we took away your forum V plates heh. ![]() I'm glad you haven't cancelled your holiday. I find it 'kinda' ridiculous that anyone would. Kusadasi is no more unsafe than anywhere else. I mean just look at London right now! .. The media didn't portray it too well... If only more journalists were like Miriam Lee (http://forum.kusadasi.biz/thread2401.html) Anyway.... The hotel looks very nice, As Dean already gave you the info about where it's situated ect. I don't need to -but you can view pictures and see what facilities they have on offer here: CLICK The nightlife it is still as vibrant and banging as it was before. Have no fear, you’ll still be able to party harty on bar street. Expect to pay between 3 -5 YTL for a beer (Efes ect.) & imported beer might be slightly more expensive. On bar street the prices are obviously much higher than in other areas of Kusadasi. Concerning the gaa championship - Many of the bars show sports... Setanta Sports can be seen in Jimmy's bar on Bar Street. Ermmm, and the bars on bar street are open till around 4/am ish. Glad you have found this site helpful. Just have a good old look through all the topics, and use the search feature at the top of the forum homepage to look for specific things. There are alot of subjects covered on this forum, and I think you'll find all the answers to any other questions you have. If not, just ask away and I'm sure that one of us can help you. Hope you have a fantastic time in Kusadasi. ![]() Be sure to come back on and let us all know how it was. Take care, Carmella x |

koruma is a nice hotel try and get sea view room makes all the difference . try the Ala turka resturant just a few minutes walk from the hotel good food and prices (ok i admit another friends place).
i stayed a few minutes walk along the front (away from centre) on my last 3 visits and would walk home at night oops morning from bar street ,no problems even at 4.30 am streets nice and safe and quite romantic for you and girlfriend as sea is opposite for most of the way and the taxis are pretty expensive after 12 .a couple of places sell cider but its pretty hard to trace them down suggest mentioning it as you talk to people as have always found it best way to find anything in kus. you will have a great time and like the rest of us will be hooked on the place from now on im sure . ps forget international beers efes is a good drink and much cheaper |

I've been recently in the KoruMar hotel and it is absolutely fabulous! I've loved it very much and have missed it a lot since I came back home.
The view on the sea is beautiful and all the people in the hotel are very kind! I hope to go back there one day! ![]() |
