Thumbs down Shot man not connected to bombing

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4711021.stm

A man shot dead by police hunting the bombers behind Thursday's London attacks was a Brazilian electrician unconnected to the incidents.

That is absolutely terrible.

Oh my God that is really awful, i thought Podge was right when he said it sounded more like an execution!

That is sooo bad, the poor man!

The Brazilian government has expressed its shock at the killing and Brazil's foreign minister Celso Amorim is on his way to London to get an explanation from foreign secretary Jack Straw.

In a statement the government said it "looks forward to receiving the necessary explanation from the British authorities on the circumstances which led to this tragedy".

I'm actually reading comment's elsewhere about this, such as;

Quote:
Even if he wasnt connected they still should have shot him. Imagine if he was and he had gotten away, he could have killed 10-20 more. Safer to that mistake in my opinion then the mistake of letting him escape.
Quote:
Doesn't bother me actually, and hats off to whoever shot him. It's better to take the chance than to let him run away and risk having another train blown up
Quote:
He shouldn't have run from the police and jumped over a barrier then should he?
Wtf. I don't know if it's just me... but those comments really hacked me off! How ignorant. I'm sure they wouldn't be saying the same thing if it had been an innocent member of their family or someone they knew.

The poor guy probably didn't speak much English..He had a gang of PLAIN CLOTHED officers chasing him, shouting at everyone to get out the way, and waving guns about...It's kinda understandable that he'd run. Fair enough we have a no tolerance issue now with suspects, but you cannot just go around shooting innocent people willy nilly, just because you ''suspect'' they have something to do with it.

Sir Ian Blair then acknowledged that "somebody else could be shot" as the hunt continued. This is pure lunacy.

RIP.

Thats scary stuff Mella seriously! Stay away from London eh! If the terrorists dont kill ya the police might!

To be honest it sounds a bit like martial Law doesnt it! I have a feeling people may soon be as scared of the police as they are of everything else!

I cant believe the comments that fool made! What a heartless person. I dont think he would have said the same if it was his brother or father who had been shot like that! Its typical of peoples selfishness isnt it, kill whoever ya like but keep me safe!

Today I watched the press conference on BBC - Jack Straw and Brasillian foreign minister, well, i have to say that it was not a press conference "they call it". None of the journalists got a reply what they asked. Brasillian foreign minister was keep going on compensation how stupid to talk about such thing beside a human life.
