the exchange rates are evry similar, i personally chaneg my money up in the UK & get LIRA only.

alot of opther people just get a small amount of lira, then change it when they need to (just remember you will probably pay commission each time you change money)

Euro is widley accepted in most of the bars & restaurants, but you dont always get a good rate for them!

Default Hi Paulie

Its Better In My Opinion To Change Your Money Before You Get There As I Have Always Got A Better Exchange Rate In My Bank In Dublin And Also Sometimes In Restaurents And Shops Its Cheaper To Pay In Lira As Claire Said The Exchange Rates Vary And Are Not Great

But Its Up To Yourself Once You Have A Safety Deposit Box Which Are Available In Nearly All Hotels

thanks a lot. just went to the bank there in dublin and they said that they dont do the turkish lira because it is illegal to export it in amounts greater than 5000 us dollars so its nearly immpossible for banks to get therie hands on it. would it be a disaster if i had to bring just euros and change it all over there?????just worried about gettin ripped off.need some reasurances.thanxs girls!!!

if you have a visa or mastercard bank card, just bring that along with some euro(for your first day) go to the bank your first day take out what you think you will need for the two week or how ever long your staying! then you are only getting a small charge! just make sure you get a safety deposit box for your cards/passport and money!
you can get it changed over there but you might want to have a look around first and see where does the best exchange! using a bank machine is just easier!

Paulied ...

The bank told you that??? how strange!!!

try going to a travel agency, they normally have currency commison free & i have always got LIRA no problem at all.

you can take Euro over & exchange it in turkey, but just search about as the exchange rates vary so much

You have to ring ahead and order it and then pick it up. I have never been able to get Lira from any bank here.

If all else fails...try changing your currency at the PTT (general post office) in the center of Kusadasi.
They have two offices.

We always use them!
