Hello everyone,
It's the first time I'm going to Kusadasi and I have some questions: 1. What's the best currency to have on me there: euros, dollars or credit card 2. Are there any ATMs where I can get YLRs, and where do you recommend to exhange the currencies: bank, in shops, exchange shops. 3. I would like to know if I need a fishing permit in order to fish from the peers and/or beach. 4. What are the regulations on marijuana, and if it's a *huge* problem if they find it on me ![]() Thanks |

in answer to your questions: 1. i found YTL (turkish money) best, thats all i used, didnt bring any money with me except a 100 euro for emergency, just used the bank machines and took out what i needed for the week! think you will get the best exchange rate this way! dont exchange in shops or hotel (hotels usually have the worse rate)! 3. im sure about fishing permits so i cant help on this! 4. marijuana is illegal as far as i know, if you get caught with it i think you would prob be in considerable amount of trouble! im not sure what class the drug is in trukey, so if i was you i would leave it at home and not touch the stuff over there! security in tight in kusadasi now so dont chance it! hope this was of some help! |

We change when we get down there to YTL. The PTT is really good fror the exchange! ATMīs in the centrum! Regards to fishing...perhaps you get a local fisherman to take you out. Or try one of the many boat trips! Rent Midnight Express (although a real hack job courtesy of Alan Parker) it will cure any need to bring the stuff. The police are not to be messed with. |

Aaaaaauch!!!! I remember "Midnight Express" as well!!! So painful... And that's unnecessary. A proper combination of narguile and raki will make you laugh almost the same, without breaking any law... ![]() |

banks usually offer best exchange rates so I would recommend you stick with ytl.
Pretty certain you don't need permits to fish from piers etc but I'm told you're only likely to catch small stuff. As for the weed, then I'm told they will deport immediately with little or no chance of a return visit. Just stick to the lion's milk |
