Hi Carolina,

£10 for the visa on entry ( a crisp £10 note is needed)

I think it is best to take Lira with you, the rates are fluctuating so much at the moment, that it will be easier for you just to change it up before you go, do a search for travelex on the internet, they provide a service where you order online & then pick up at their exchange desk at the airport you are flying from. they often have the best rates as well!

you can use your debit card in kus (maestro / switch) at the ATM machines, but you will be charged for each transaction, normally around £1.50 - £2.00!!

Enjoy your holiday!!

I normally take enough currency to last me for the first couple of days and then take the rest in travellers cheques! As the are plenty of places to change your money in Kus! I normally take sterlin, but thats simple coz it stops me from converting everything twice, which i would have to do with Euro! Dont think there is much in it anyway!

If you plan to spend Euro ir sterling, just be aware of the exchange rates that the restaurants & shops are using, some places are not using very good rates & it costs you more than you are think!

With Lira, at leats you know what you will be apying.

The average exchange rate is currently about 2.3 YTL to £1.00

You can use your bank card and its normally a maximum charge of maybe 1.75 or 2 pounds. That way if the rate is good is ok you can cash more than you need in TL and deposit it in hotel safe. That way you have the cash at a good rate and only pay one charge. The banks normally offer a decent rate and obviously the only charge is for the transaction , no commission
