Hi Joyce

To get your water & electric connected at your house, you will need a) your tapu (deeds) & b) your "iskan" (which you've been having problems with). Have you been given the deeds of your property yet, as I know that no deeds are being issued to foreign buyers until the Turkish government comes back from its summer break and the new rules for foreign buyers comes into practice.

Do you mind me asking if you bought your property through an estate agent in Kusadasi? Its just that our business helps our clients with these things as a normal part of the service. Just thought that was the norm with all agents.

You might not get much response from the Belediye as you might find it hard to find someone there who speaks english.

Hi Ally,
Yes we did buy through a estate agent,( in kusadasi) i carnt say any more than that here, but there is a story.
We do have a tapu, and we have also now have a lawyer who has tried to get us this permit without success, he now says it is impossible and the only thing we can do is get a water tank and a generator.
We do not want to go this way at all, and are just so frustrated about the whole thing.
Ps we bought the house last year, the estate agent did not take out the house insurance and earthquake insurance until after we arrived in may, the roof had leaked and we could not claim on the house insurance as it happened over the winter causing a lot of internal paintwork damage.
We could not move into the house in may,so we have had the renovations done plus some more and spent £11,500 now we find we carnt have water and electric.ps i think the estate agent knew he couldt get permit, we didnt even know you needed one and they didnt tell us.
The permit has lapsed as the house was new 6-7 yrs ago and has not been lived in, the previous owner let it lapse.
You would still think that you would be able to get one , we are prepared to pay to have a permit issued, this is what is so frustrating.
