Hi Everyone,
Any advise on buying on a co-operative We gave paid deposit on a villa in Kusadasi, the balance to be paid at end of the month. The villa is nearly completed but only 5 sold on the complex. We have been told we will receive papers saying we have our share of the co-op, but will receive the freehold when complex is completed. It is so confusing buying this way, not sure if it was the right thing to do. Any info from anyone who has bought on a co-operative. Is there any positive news all I read is negativity. |

Hi Berry
Where did you buy? I am currently buying in a Co-op and yes it is confusing. How many houses in the co-op as if only a small number sold it may take a long time to get your papers. Your contract should be worded to state that you are not liable for any further payments to the co-op above the purchase price. Obviously there will be a maintainence cost agreed by all members but you want to be sure that they canot look for additional funds to finish the site if they run out of money. Send me an email by PM and I will send you on any info I have. |
