Default i'm an official turkey phobic???

I used to be kusadasi's greatest fan, holidayed 3 or 4 times a year for 7 years, then i moved their to live, and it was the most terrifying 6 months of my life...i've kept away for 8 years and now for personal reasons i may have to visit again, coming on here is a way of facing my fears..

Default what a typical turkish response!

No, I am actually married to a turkish born gentleman. we have lived happily in england for more than 7 years. He hasnt forgotten his roots but he doesnt hide the faults of the country he is born. He renounced his nationality 5 years ago and is now officially british. I was silly to expect more open minded conversation on here.

i gave up any expectations of anything turkish long ago, i married my husband for his character not for his nationality! Its amazing your attitude is so typical of any turk who is criticised in any way at all! The first thing any tourist should know is that these hospitable people who you think become your friends, turn into greedy, materialistic people over night.

firstly, my husband did nothing wrong, he is the most amazing man in the world.
secondly, he suffered just as i did during that time.
thirdly, you know your countries true colours, i dont need to tell you that,
fourthly, after what i experienced, i think i was quite fair and opened minded to still marry a turk, dont you..
and finally if you cant take good and bad comments you shouldnt have a free website...

human rights and freedom of speech, its part of the conditions of joining the e.u too, funny that!

Ohh nice introduction!!

I would say welcome to the forum, but dont actually think you want to be or should be here!

Turkey is a wonderful country, & has some of the most beautiful people i have ever met.

Sorry if you didnt find that .. but you shouldnt tar every Turkish person with the same brush! you obviously love your Husband...what makes him so different??

Whats all this about Freedom of speech?? this is an open forum..& i dont see your posts being deleted or edited?? Maybe you should look the words up in the dictionary & you will see their true meaning!!!

I hope when you go to Kusadasi you open your eyes a bit!!!

True colours? After what you experienced? And what was that exactly, are we meant to just know?

All the above is meerely your opinion, it is not fact.

You cannot tarnish every single Turk with the same brush. Yes there are bad ones, but on the whole they are lovely people. Just like they are in every country and nationality.

We all love Turkey on here, so it probably wasn't the best idea to come on and publically criticize it in the way that you did. Fair enough you're entitled to your opinion, and maybe if we knew the reasons behind your opinions we could understand a bit better.

Anyway, just try and be a bit more respectful when talking to others on here, we are not against you so no need to take it out on us.

Hope you have an enjoyable trip to Kusadasi and get over your fears.
