Hi All,
Purchased a villa in davutlar in may and have been waiting since then to get the tapu as the Turkish government were "changing the rules".
Anybody got any updates as to when this situation will change as we were told that the we will see a change in the situation this month.

From what i have read Bradboy, the goverment still havnt given any dates as to when the decision will be made!

Im afraid it is a waiting game .. also once the new law does come into force, Id imagine there will be a big back log of work to do!!

Hi Bradyboy, we bought in January and waited until late May for Tapu, so wouldn't get too worried yet mate. They work on Turkish time don't forget.

I cannot understand why non-Turkish buyers should wait at all such long period of time for Tapu to come through. Certainly the " position of the house in non military zone" was already checked by authorities before the developer was given permission to build or was there another reason?

The position of a complex isnt checked with the military before its built because turkish citizens can live anywhere. Most complex`s are not built for the sole purpose of foreign buyers so something like this wouldnt be feasible.
The new regulations have still not come into practice so unfortunately everyone still has to wait.

I talked yesterday to my lawyer in Kus who is one of the two lawyers who repesent foreign buyers. She said the law would be soon changed in the new year and she knows about the contents.

Hi, We have just been told by our Emlak, that our tapu could take another 2 to 3 month,s to come through, and we bought at the start of October last year. Here,s Hoping, Fingers and everything else crossed. Mavi

Tapus have been issued since last Monday. So anyone who`s Military Clearance has returned will be able to have their Tapus at long last.
