First of all is i seem to mislaid mine and the wifes tax cards.
Is this a major problem?
On my bank accounts it says Vergi Kimlik N0 is this my tax number or something else.
I want to open a bank account when i next go out ,im certain will i need my tax number .
Can i get a new card from the tax office issued on the spot?
If The Vergi Kimlik is my tax number can i just tell them or do i need my cards?

yes, "Vergi kimlik no" means "tax id no".

Also there is only one tax number on our joint account .
surely the wife and i will not have the same numbers will we.

there should not be a problem getting a replacement tax number I.D. cards, for bank accounts this is required, also their is a new requirement to have your tax I.D. number for villa insurance application also.

If you already have a vergi no so a tax number then you should easly get you tax id card from the tax office and with that card you can open a bank account on your name , this is what i know.

İts not necessary to get a new card; only to know your number.

http://vedop.mb-ggm.gov.tr/vkn_sorgu/VKNoSorguInput.jsp

Type in your surname, name, fathers forename, select YURTDIŞI and type in the year you were born. İt should then come up with your details.

Any idea what this means
