A Really big difference.
Turkish people in Europe especially the children are totally different to the ones that live and are brought up in Turkey.
One of the main reasons i guess is because they are in a different culture and see their friends acting totally different than how they were brought up, and they try to be like them...In Holland there are alot of Turkish people and they act very different from The Turks in Their own country...

The Lovely Bilge also had this to say on the matter:

As you know, every group has it's rotten appels. Thing with a lot of Turkish (and other: Maroccan, African etc.) emmigrants is that their parents left their small village in Turkey to come to a country they didn't know anything about. Some never learned the language and could never teach their children that. They don't look out for their kids, don't know
what they're up to and don't ask - because the kid just won't answer... It's a matter of being raised the wrong way in MOST EVENTS. Parents are to passive and kids can get away with anything they like...

And i think she hit the nail right on the head.

I will be honest. It effected me.
When someone suggested 'Lets goto Turkey' i didnt want to go..... purely because of the Turkish people i'd personally encountared whilst visiting the Netherlands.
In the end i went and i honestly hand on heart could say that the Turkish people in Turkey are the most Beautiful, kind hearted, sweet, loving nationality i have ever met. I adore them.
So yeah we really should stereotype all turkish just because of a few bad ones. Which you anyways have in every nationality.

I have to say that in all my life be it in a country other than turkey I have never met a horrible turk . Their cultures may slightly differ depending on where they live. However when I first visited Turkey 10 years ago they were very touchy feely but that is only because they were only getting used to the tourists. Nowadays I would give anything for more touchy feely. There are a lot of turks living in Ireland and they are great fun as well and a fabulous race of people. The Irish are also great but because of the huge influx of immigrants we are staring to turn rascist which is something I would have never hoped to have seen but I think thats worldwide unfortunately
