Default Bomb kills 3 in Turkey

A bomb set off by suspected Kurdish guerrillas killed three people and injured 14 others on Thursday in Turkey's Kurdish-dominated southeast, the Anatolia news agency reported.

Authorities were investigating whether a suicide bomber carried out the attack in the southeastern city of Van, bordering Iran, the state-owned agency reported.

The blast near a supermarket killed two people in a municipal traffic vehicle, one of them a police officer, and killed another person nearby, Anatolia reported.

The blast also shattered the windows of several other vehicles and nearby houses and businesses, Anatolia said.

Ambulances ferried the injured to local hospitals as police and paramilitary police forces were deployed at the site.

Kurdish guerrillas, seeking autonomy, have escalated their attacks recently.

Unfortunately, the whole object of terrorism is to terrorise (Stalin, I think). Its just a great pity that so many different factions around the world feel the need to impose their brand of life through such activities.

My sincere condolences to the injured and relatives of the deceased in this latest attrocity.

Terror never solves anything. The conflict between Turks and Kurds really needs to be addressed; however, I doubt it's possible.

Thumbs up

Hi Angel,

I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly, unfortunately those who terrorise only see their acts as those of bravery (and hence worthy of reward) for the cause (whatever the cause may be).

But like you (and others) I deplore all acts of terrorism because the only people who really get hurt by them are generally the average Joes in the street.

How sad is that! but then no one knows how sad are the lives of people who do this sort of thing, they must be very disturbed to even walk round with bombs attached to them.
