What riles me about quite a few estate agencies in Kusadasi is that they mislead on house prices. Meaning that they dont update prices on their website and mislead the would-be buyer into thinking that properties are cheaper than what they really are.
Example... We own a detached property near the waterpark at Long Beach. Didnt really want to buy it but thats another story about clients being misleading! Anyway the price of the houses on this particular complex are around 125-150,000€. We found a buyer 2 weeks ago who we struck a deal with for 120,000€. Needless to say this client then looked on the internet to see if the same houses were being advertised with any other agents. And lo & behold yes he found one for 110,000€ so said that he was going to take that one instead. He gave us the website address and we had a look. İ sent one of my staff round to the agent to ask if this house was being advertised at the right price. Turned out that it was a mistake and the house was infact 150,000€; they said they would amend it. But turned out that this agent has THREE websites; different web addresses but same agent. They changed the price on one website but didnt change it on the website our client had enquired through. We rang them and asked again what the correct price of the house was and they said 150,000€. Asked them why it was still being advertised at 110,000€ and they said they would change the other website too. İn emails to our client they were still insisting that the house was there at that price. Anyway they have now changed the price but still considerably lower than their other website. How can one agent sell the same property at two different prices??? Needless to say in the end we reduced the price of our house to 110,000€ or we would have lost the sale. This, by the way, is less than what we paid for it last year. PLUS we had the interior plastered and painted. These are ploys to get the client out to Kusadasi then sadly apologise and tell them that the house they were interested in just happened to be sold 2 or 3 days ago! Makes me mad! Anyway thats my kettle of steam let off for today. Now İ can go off and do a days work in peace! ![]() Alison |

I'm in total agreement, far too many people get sucked in by these unscrupulous agents who are just trying to hook customers with fancy websites which give the impression of a reputable company. Honesty is the best policy, or am I just being too British?!

It happens all around the world .
The cheaper the houses look the more likely people will travel to Turkey. the cheap houses will have just been sold . People expect this kind of thing to happen ! |

Ally - you can let of steam about deceptions anytime you want to. It can be a nasty old world out there and unfortunately the decent people tend to get overtaken and lumped in with the bad eggs. Keep up the good work though - it enhances you - not diminishes you.

We bought our apartment a couple of years ago and we were pleased with the help and advice we received. It was absolutely first class.
We are thinking of investing in another property in Kusadasi........ |

Hello Administrator
It is I suppose - from a satisfied customer - not meant to be a commercial plug though so I apologise for that. |

Hi Alison
Sorry to hear what happened,i s it not worth holding out for a better offer with the new season starting soon?. Another one of the ploys that annoyed me when I was buying my place was the adverts on the websites showing these great villa's and when I got out there they were just shells, when I asked where the one was on the advert, was told these were on another site, but these would be the same when finished and of course would have been twice the price. Reconise all these problems. Came to Kus last year thinking I could get something I would like for €50-60 (having looked at net adverts). Spent over €100 but still glad I came. My main bit of advise is speak to lots of agents, use recommendations from folks that have been there and done it, and do lots of visits. You soon get a feeling for whos ok and whos not. Mark
