Hi it's over one year on and I finally will go out to kusadasi to take keys to my Vill, next week. I did start with an estate agent but after I did a bit of research on them I found them not to be trusted.
With help of a local, I went straight to owner for my villa and negotiated the price. This saved around £7,000 doing it this way; but you must be careful and always get a recommended solicitor. I paid deposit on March 15th 2005. I was supposed to have access in April. However unexpected delays with co-operatives/owner issues prevented this. One thing I did do was get a solicitor and have the Notary office draw up a Promise to Buy/Sell legal document. I am so glad i did this; as the price of my villa has risen quite alot over the past year, but I still will pay at last years agreed price.

Well I go out with my son on the 21st April, I will check the property as there have been tenants from previous owner in there. First thing i want to do is get the locks changed. The villa has security bars, is it possible to change just the internal lock rather than getting a locksmith out. I have heard cases where the have been breakins with the help of lock smiths so am a little cautious. My son and I are quite handy and thought we might be able to but the internal lock for the grates and fit them our self, is this possible. can anyone recommend a place where the locks can be purchased, or a reputable lock smith, at a reasonable cost? Any idea of the cost of changing locks to approx 5 doors?

Any advise greatly appreciated. Thanks Dee

Dee

Send me an email: info@rentaturkishvilla.com and when my wife returns (She's Turkish and at our villa in Kush now) I will get some details to you.

She is currently getting the satellite fitted and getting the locks changed on the front door.
