Hi Heph

Im going to Agora today with my mum. Its in Balçova whıch is just along the coast road from Konak (opposite way from Alsancak heading for Cesme).
Yes there's a Marks & Spencers there and a fantastic eating area, cinema, starbucks, etc. Regarding the gallery, I have seen some paintings being displayed in the hall itself, not in a shop.

Thank you Alison!

That's brilliant information! Agora sounds fab - we will defınately be going there! I have been to Balcova once before but that was just visitıng the spa center way back in 95.

Btw I tried the mushromm saute at Moda...it was delicious thank you for recommending it!

I think (not sure) we passed you on our way to Bül Bül the other day. You were behind the desk staring concentrated at the computer. No doubt it was another of Pete's filthy joke's that grabbed your attention!

Hi Chris

Why didnt you stick you head through the door and say Hello!!! lol

Yes I was no doubt rivetted to this forum; probably thinking up words for the bloody word game. Addictive it is

Well visited Agora today after we'd been to Kemeralti. Had a lovely pasta dish in the place next to Mado in the dining section upstairs. Couldnt finish it there was so much on the plate, and very reasonably priced.

Finally found their website: AGORA
Quote:
Agora Shopping Complex's front side has Mithatpasa Avenue which has the most busy route (Mithatpasa-Uckuyular-Balcova) in Izmir. The back side of Agora, come across with Izmir-Cesme motorway and Izmir Gulf. Agora Shopping Complex is 15 minutes away from Izmir Centre, 7 minutes away from Uckuyular Ferryboat Port, 20 minutes away from Adnan Menderes Airport, 35 minutes away from Cesme and 45 minutes away from Aydın.

Vital Fresh is where you can a great selection of fruit juices and you can mix them as you wish. Carrott and orange was delicíous!

MADO

Mandolin Cafe:

MARKS & SPENCERS: Pretty pricey and not exactly huge but they did have some nice stuff.

We visited Agora shopping center a few days ago..It's pretty nice and the eating area is great...loads of choice

(If you go - check out 'Has Bahçe' coffee house on the ground floor - it has the BEST chocolate milkshake ever! )

Popped into Marks and Sparks, it was small but had some nice things. Also visited The Oasis shopping center in Bodrum - they also have a Marks & Spencers! Turkey has a much (much, much) better shopping scene than Holland!

However, my favorite place to shop (apart from Forum Bornova) is Ege Park in Karsiyaka. I made a thread about it here:

At the food court you are really spoilt for choice. I was like; should I go here or here or here!

I enjoyed a nice refreshment at The Mandolin Café, sat outisde - lovely.
I also liked The Mandolin Café at the Konak Pier.

What is the size of the M&S in Bodrum, Carmella? Just as small?
