Are you a regular visitor to the Kusadasi area? Are you a homeowner in the area? Do you wish there were more flights from Dublin to Izmir? Do you want an all year round direct service from Dublin to Izmir? Are you sick of being treated like cattle on charter flights? Are you weary of the only alternative being the trudge through terminals at Istanbul or the 10 hour drudgery of travelling via the UK?
Well this is an opportunity to put some pressure on Turkish Airlines to provide a direct Dublin-Izmir service. Someone called TurkishCrane purporting to be the THY Dublin Sales Team posted the email address for Turkish Airlines in Dublin and suggested we email them if we want a direct Dublin-Izmir service. Maybe they are from THY and maybe they aren't. Who cares? I don't because I think it is a great idea. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by sending an email requesting that they start direct flights from Dublin to Izmir. If you are a member of any other Turkish Forum why not post the request there too. The email address is sales@turkishairlines.ie |

Yes, Apple, it would be good to have direct flights. When you fly with BA and Onurair you still have to get a bus in Kusadasi or arrange airport transfers and that's after the 10 hour marathon flying through the UK.

That's very interesting Apple, but I think those of us who want a direct Dublin-Izmir service wouldn't be inclined to be starting out at your house in Blackpool.
This thread is about petitioning Turkish Airlines to provide a service from Dublin to Izmir without any stopover in Istanbul by sending them an email at sales@turkishairlines.ie |

To be honest a direct TA flight from Manchester would be pretty cool too. Do they fly direct to Izmir from any of the UK airports?

Quote:
According to an article about Alanya in an Irish Sunday newspaper Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly to Antalya airport. Don't know where they got that from because I checked both Ryanair and Aer Lingus websites and neither airline flies to Turkey. Who knows, maybe the journalist got a bit of inside info. Looks like the smart money from Ireland could be headed for Alanya. To a lot of people Alanya is already more attractive than Kusadasi because it is on the Med and has no seizmic fault lines so probably not as prone to earthquakes. If Antalya gets a scheduled flight service from Ireland and Izmir doesn't, I'm afraid that from an Irish point of view Kusadasi could become the poor relation of Irish tourism to Turkey and could be left, to put it crudely, to the boozer/banger brigade which might mean more business for the local bars but not much else. |

Yes, good idea to petition Ryanair as well. Apple, as a matter of curiosity, why are you getting involved in a petition for direct flights from Dublin when you say your house is in Blackpool?
