...Am really excitied..... have just booked 3 adults 1 child - return flights from Stanstead to Izmir in August (right in the middle of kids six week holidays....!!) for....wait for it....£538.....Priced up Thomas Cook (over a £1000), and BA (£880), will now splash out and hire car for three weeks with the money we've saved....!! any good car rental companies..?

Wow, that is cheap! Booked with Ba for last 2 weeks in August for 4 adults and 1 child and it cost 1200 pounds!! Gutted :-(

Any more info on sunexpress. Checked out their web site but could only find German and Dutch airports flying to Turkey. Do they fly from anywhere else but Stanstead?

Found the flights from Stanstead to Izmir and they were a good price. Unfortunately not low enough to tempt me to drive to Stanstead rather than my local airport. Anyone living within an hour of Stanstead should check them out. Wish they flew from Doncaster.
They dont offer a very good exchange rate from Lira to £ though. The total price they quoted me came to 773lira which they converted to £284 whereas travelex would have exchanged £253 for that. If you could pay in lira you would be quids in.

I voted for Doncaster for obvious reasons. Manchester came out on top for the north but because of the rubbish trans pennine roads it is actually quicker for me to get to Birmingham than Manchester. Only a flight delay the other year stopped me missing my flight from Manchester to Izmir as I was delayed for 90 minutes in a traffic jam on the way there.
