Hephaestion and other Scandinavians. I noticed it can be tricky to book cheap flights, at least from Gothenburg to Izmir. A tip is: try http://www.sembo.se/ they offer quite cheap flight, in our case combining SAS and Lufthansa. There are also flights from Copenhagen available from Sembo. I found this flight from: http://www.travelstart.se/ I use to check up http://www.tyrkieteksperten.dk/ but they are often too expensive, at least for us swedes.

I agree, gone are the days when you could pick up great deals with
Tyrkiet Eksperten to Turkey. They messed with our holiday bookings
- again. They altered the departure day, so we loose a day and they didn´t even bother telling us. No compensation at all!

It´s a mess with them.

WOW, haven't been in here for long time but just booked my holiday for Kusadasi this summer and wanted to see whats happening...
I also had trouble finding cheap flights to Izmir but I found a great place online: http://www.momondo.com -just a little insider tip from me....
I found tickets cheaper than any other place online from Copenhagen to Izmir...

You can also consider flying to Samos and then taking the ferry to Kusadsi. I know of several people who have done it this way.

Haven´t seen you around for quite a while. I thought you ditched Kusadasi for Marmaris for good!

I have considered it but thought it was too much hassle. I wish they had a hydrofoil service from Kusadasi to Samos. Interesting to know that people actually use Samos as an alternative.

NEVER will I ditch Kusadasi and not for Marmaris.... Just been very busy (my bahcelorproject is due in a week!!!)
But in only 6 weeks I'm off to Kusadasi....

I looked for flights from Copenhagen to Samos, but it's much more expensive than to Izmir and you have to change flights twice.... So that's not an option for me.

No Samos is not particularly cheap to get to from Denmark. You also have to add the cost of getting from Samos Airport to the port and then ferry ticket to Kusadasi. More hassle than it´s worth I suspect.
